St. Andrew Orthodox Church
A Parish of the Moscow Patriarchate

Liturgical Calendar and Services

The Divine Liturgy is celebrated every Sunday at 9:30 am. Like the majority of Orthodox parishes, St. Andrew observes the Byzantine or Eastern Rite, although there are Latin or Western Rite parishes that celebrate Mass. Confessions are heard before Liturgy. Please arrive at least 30 minutes early for confession. Coffee hour and fellowship in the basement always follow after Liturgy and from September through May, church school is held following Liturgy for toddlers through high schoolers.

There is a nursery available during Liturgy that is adjacent to the nave with a glass window so one can still watch the service. Note that the nursery is not staffed.

Vespers is held every Saturday at 6:00 pm. Confessions are heard following Vespers.

In addition to the above, there are many liturgical worship services held throughout the year. Please see the calendar, most recent bulletin, upcoming events on the home page, and our facebook events. We also recommend signing up for our Remind service, under "Stay in Touch" on the home page, to stay informed of any schedule changes.

Bible Study Groups

Regular study sessions of Holy Scripture are held throughout the year that typically involve study of a specific book.

Our next bible study for 2019 will be a four-part study on Christ's Sermon on the Mount. It begins October 10 and will run Oct 10, 17, 24, and 31 beginning at 6:00 pm.

For other future sessions, please see the calendar, upcoming events on the home page, and our facebook events. We also recommend signing up for our Remind service, under "Stay in Touch" on the home page, to stay informed of any schedule changes.

The Faith & Fellowship of Saint Andrew

The Purpose of The Faith & Fellowship of Saint Andrew is to provide a recurring scheduled opportunity throughout the entire year: (I) For inquirers, seekers, and catechumens to fellowship more deeply with Orthodox Christians outside of liturgical worship and coffee hour and (II) for members to encourage one another's faith that we may draw strength from Christ and His Church.

Each session begins and ends with Orthodox Evening Prayers: a blessed gift nurtured and preserved for us by the Church. These are representative of the prayers commonly said together at home. The liturgical structure of the prayers provides wisdom, beauty, and trustworthy guidance. The aim is that saying them together with friends and visitors, in a simple setting that resembles a space set aside for prayer in a home, will perhaps be one small step moving each of us closer to Jesus Christ.

The group is open to all: men and women, young, middle age, or old, whether visitors, inquirers, catechumens, or newly, longtime, or lifelong Orthodox. The group meets the 4th Wednesday of every month at 6:30pm for 1-2 hours. When this falls during a busy time, a different date may be selected (almost certainly another Wednesday). Please see the calendar for any possible variation in the date for a month which should be posted to the calendar significantly in advance.
